Who's Who at Japanese Kitchen

TC (Tsuyoshi) - Owner Chef from Tokyo

chef TC has more than 15 years of professional cooking and kitchen management experience in Japan and NZ. TC worked in variety of restaurants including Japanese and other Asian - Takoyaki, Curry, Ramen, and Sushi shops.

He ran his own Japanese restaurant for 5 years and sold the business. Now he is an owner of this Japanese takeaway shop.

He has a huge passion for food and cooking, he doesn't even mind cooking dinner for his family after working all day at the takeaway shop. TC loves reading and fishing, he was good at martial arts and computer game when he was younger.

Iku - Co-Owner from Hokkaido

owner Iku graduated from Home Economics University and gained knowledge of food and nutritious as well as cooking skills. Her major was Japanese dressmaking (kimono) and she made 6 kimonos in 2 years.

For 10 years in NZ, she has worked in a restaurant, supermarket, also worked as a Japanese tour guide, receptionist, Japanese restaurant owner and now own her Japanese takeaway shop.

She likes challenges and learning new things. Also she likes sharing Japanese experiences with customers and playing with Yutaka.

Yutaka - mascot from Wellington

mascot Yutaka was born in Wellington on a Sunday and is very much a happy camper.

He has grown up at Japanese Kitchen since he was 6 months old and he's a big eater for his age. Being cuddled and spoken to by many customers who come to Japanese Kitchen to see him, Yutaka has enjoyed heaps of delightful times at the shop.

His specialty is dancing and clapping to happy songs, distinguishing different children's voices from a distance and waving goodbye when customers leave.
